چکیده

As the global population rises, agriculture and industry are under increasing pressure to become more sustainable in meeting this growing demand, while minimizing impacts on emissions, land use change, biodiversity. The development of efficient symbiotic local bioeconomies can help respond challenge by using land, resources, side streams ways tailored needs different regions. Green biorefineries offer a unique opportunity for regions with abundant grasslands primary resource sustainably, providing feed cows, also generating monogastric animals, along co-production biomaterials energy. current study investigates impact green biorefinery co-product, leaf protein concentrate (LPC), input pig farm, assessing its diets, extended bioenergy performance farm. found that LPC replaced soya bean meal at 50% displacement rate, pigs showing positive intake weight gain. Based laboratory analysis, resulting slurry demonstrated higher biogas content 26% biomethane potential compared control slurry. findings demonstrate some synergies between agricultural sectors be achieved through development, benefits bioeconomy actors.

Introduction: Globalisation, Value Chains and Development

Globalisation has become a catchword for the international economy in the late 20th century. It is a truism that nations have become more interdependent through the flows of goods, services, and financial capital since the 1 970s. The growing importance of export-oriented industrialisation has made integration into the global economy virtually synonymous with development for a number of nations...

Integrated utilisation of green biomass in the green biorefinery

Grass, clover and alfalfa are used for production of fodder pellets. In the green crop drying factories in the northern countries the drying is combined with pressing of the green crops resulting in production of large volumes of plant juices, green and brown juice. In order to get rid of these enormous amounts of plant juice, representing an environmental threat, it is our aim to convert the s...

Who Benefits from Government Farm Payments?

Relationships between Payments Received and Farm Household Well-Being Government payments to farmers increased from about $7.5 billion in 1996—the year the “Freedom to Farm” bill was enacted—to over $20 billion in 1999, 2000, and 2001. This increase stemmed from a drop in agricultural prices, which spurred a dramatic growth in emergency market assistance payments and loan deficiency payments (s...

First Pandemic H1N1 Outbreak from a Pig Farm in Italy

The first outbreak of the pandemic H1N1 virus in a swine breeder farm in Italy in November 2009 was reported. Clinical signs observed in sows included fever, depression, anorexia and agalactia, while in piglets diarrhoea and weight loss. The morbidity in sows was approximately 30% and the accumulated mortality rate was similar with those usually reported in piggeries (<10%). Virus was isolated ...

“Green” Supply Chains: Using Information Integration for Sustainable Development

The current development of global economies and societies is regarded as being highly unsustainable. This paper analyses the current situation. Instead of simplistic metrics that take only snapshots of the life-cycle of a product into consideration, an approach is introduced that covers the whole supply chain. The core idea is that end-to-end transparency, specific data models, a process archit...
